Meet DR ANWAR KHAN
The Circumcision Clinic Glasgow is a speciality centre established by Dr Anwar Khan FRCS (Edinburgh), an ex-surgeon of Grange University Hospital, Cwmbran, Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport and the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, United Kingdom.
Dr Khan has extensive experience in performing both religious and medical circumcision procedures. He is committed to maintaining high standards of care and conducts an annual audit of his clinical practice and outcomes to support continuous quality improvement.
The pain and trauma often associated with the procedure can be minimised by having the procedure performed by a skilled surgeon who has extensive experience performing circumcisions and revisions of prior procedures performed by others.
Dr Khan regularly updates his knowledge and skills by going on study courses and conferences.
As an expert in his field, Dr (Mr) Anwar Khan carries out the procedures using different techniques as required. For example, the ‘ring technique’- Circumplast (Emboss Medical), Plastibell (made by Hollister Incorporated), or Sleeve resection method (where the foreskin is resected and dissolvable stitches are applied).
He offers full counselling and aftercare services for the well-being of all patients, parents and families and can be contacted at 24 hours any time of the day.
Dr Khan is a member of various medical and regulatory bodies, including the General Medical Council (GMC, 5204297), Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, British Medical Association, ENT Society UK and the International Medical Relief Agency.
Additionally, Dr (Mr) Anwar Khan is the founder and director of Circumcision Clinic, with branches in Cardiff (www.circumcisionincardiff.co.
He is a trustee of the International Medical Relief Agency (IMRA), and with the collaboration of the ENT Society UK, regularly volunteers to organise charity surgical camps overseas performing ear surgercal procedures.
He MR (Dr) Khan has presented at various national and international stages and has contributed in several peer review journals.
